2027 Election: Why Zannah Represents the Most Credible Political Choice

Image
By Mohammed Kabir (P.A) As the 2027 general elections draw closer, the political conversation across Zamfara State is gradually shifting from slogans to substance. Citizens are no longer satisfied with rhetoric; they are demanding capacity, credibility, and a proven record of delivery. In this emerging reality, Hon. (Dr.) Abdulmalik Zubairu Zannah (Zannan Bungudu) stands out as a political leader whose profile aligns with the moment and the needs of the people. A Record That Speaks Louder Than Promises: Politics in Zamfara has suffered for years from leadership built on promises rather than performance. Zannah’s strength lies in the fact that his political career is already defined by measurable outcomes. His large-scale investment in education through scholarship schemes and student support programs reflects a deliberate political philosophy: empowering the people as a foundation for long-term stability and development. At a time when insecurity, poverty, and illiteracy continue ...

Opinion: Gusau -Magami-Dansadau’s Road Project Approval — Progress or Poor Judgment?

Image
By Mohammed Kabir.  The Zamfara State Executive Council’s recent approval of the second phase of the Gusau–Magami–Dansadau Road project may appear, on the surface, as a step forward in the state’s infrastructure development. However, a closer look at the details reveals more cause for concern than celebration. At the Council’s meeting on Monday, 20th October 2025, it was announced that the first phase of the road, awarded to Dantata and Sawoe Construction Company, had seen only 10 kilometres completed out of the planned 30. Despite this poor performance, the government decided to retain the contractor — merely warning that failure to accelerate progress could lead to termination of the contract. This decision raises legitimate questions about accountability and the management of public contracts. In a state where infrastructural decay has slowed economic growth and rural development, allowing an underperforming contractor to continue sends the wrong signal. Citizens expect d...
