ADC Appoints Zamfara State Congress Committee Ahead of Party Congresses



Gusau, April 6, 2026 — The National Leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced the appointment of a Zamfara State Congress Committee to oversee the conduct of the party’s forthcoming congresses in the state.

The appointment, which was conveyed through the Office of the National Organizing Secretary, is part of ADC’s preparations for its congresses scheduled to take place at the Polling Unit, Ward, Local Government, and State levels.

According to the announcement, Mohamed Mainasara will serve as Chairman of the committee, while Ambassador Zubairu Yelwa, Mni, will act as Secretary. Other members of the committee include Shehu Muhd Maishanu, Dr. Ahmad Hashim, and Mallam Muhammadu Bako.

The party also released a timetable for the congress activities. Screening of aspirants is scheduled for April 7, followed by appeals on April 8. Congresses at the Polling Unit, Ward, and Local Government levels, including the election of one National Delegate, will hold on April 9, while appeals on the congresses are set for April 10.

The State Congress, where 12 National Delegates are expected to be elected, is slated for April 11, with appeals scheduled for April 12.

The ADC National Leadership has directed the committee to ensure that the process is conducted in line with the party’s constitution and guidelines, emphasizing fairness, transparency, accountability, and internal democracy.

Meanwhile, the Zamfara State chapter of the party has called on members, stakeholders, and aspirants to cooperate fully with the committee to ensure a peaceful and credible exercise.
