ADC Conducts Peaceful and Transparent Bye-Election Primary in Kaura Namoda South
Gusau, Zamfara State – July 19, 2025
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has successfully conducted its primary election ahead of the August 16 bye-election in Kasuwar Daji, Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The primary election took place at Kasuwar Daji around 2:00 PM and was led by the ADC State Chairman, Honourable Kabiru Garba Gusau, who was accompanied by members of the state executive and the party’s Electoral Committee. The process was organized in line with ADC’s internal democratic principles and the guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In attendance were INEC officials from the national headquarters in Abuja, Electoral Monitoring Officers (EMOs) from the INEC Zamfara State Office, and a detachment of security personnel who ensured a peaceful and orderly exercise.
Following a smooth and transparent voting process, Manir Sodangi Sakajiki emerged as the winner and was officially declared the ADC candidate for the upcoming bye-election.
In his post-election remarks, Honourable Kabiru Garba Gusau commended the delegates, party members, INEC observers, and security agencies for their professionalism and dedication to upholding the democratic process. He also congratulated the winner, urging him to remain humble and committed to the values of the party.
"This exercise is a clear demonstration of our party’s commitment to free, fair, and credible internal democracy. I want to thank all those who participated and ensured its success. We are now focused on the August 16 election and confident in the capacity of our candidate to deliver victory for the ADC," said Hon. Kabiru Garba Gusau.
The ADC's peaceful and well-coordinated primary has been widely praised by stakeholders as a model for credible political participation in Zamfara State.
With the conclusion of the primaries, the party is expected to intensify its grassroots mobilization and campaign efforts across Kaura Namoda LGA in preparation for the general bye-election.
