Reduced the prices of commodities - Commorade Abdullahi Bungudu Appeals to Business Community
Bungudu, Zamfara State — July 27, 2025
Prominent community advocate and Executive Director Health Standard Concern Organisation (HESCO), Comrade Abdullahi Lawal Bungudu, has made a passionate appeal to the business community and local traders across Zamfara State to review their pricing practices in line with current market realities.
In a public statement released on Sunday, Comrade Bungudu expressed concern over the continued high prices of goods and commodities despite a noticeable drop in their market value. He described the situation as unfair and detrimental to the well-being of the masses, particularly those already grappling with the rising cost of living.
"The prices of many goods have gone down, but some traders are yet to reduce their prices accordingly. This is an act of injustice against the people," he stated.
He emphasized that Islam and all major faiths strongly advocate for fairness, compassion, and honesty in trade. He urged traders to let the fear of God and a sense of empathy guide their business decisions.
"Our profit should not come at the expense of the people’s suffering. Let us act with conscience and adjust our prices to reflect current realities," Bungudu appealed.
He concluded by calling for collective responsibility in building a more just and compassionate society, where the needs of the people are prioritized and economic fairness is upheld.
The appeal has since sparked conversations among market stakeholders, religious leaders, and civil society groups, with many supporting the call for ethical business practices.
