ADC Zamfara Holds One-Day Convergence of Coalition Partners in Gusau
Gusau, Zamfara State – June 4, 2025
The Zamfara State Chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Tuesday successfully held a one-day convergence of its coalition partners with the theme “Strengthening Alliances for a Better Nigeria.” The event took place at the Green Senary Hotel Conference Hall in Gusau and attracted over 100 participants from various political parties, civil society organizations, and community groups.
The convergence was chaired by Dr. Ahmad Hashimu, the ADC’s Gubernatorial Candidate in the 2023 General Elections. In his address, Dr. Hashimu emphasized the importance of building strong alliances and coalitions to enhance governance and foster democratic development across Nigeria.
The event featured keynote presentations by distinguished speakers, including:
Dr. Isah Muhammad of Federal University Gusau, who spoke on “Stakeholder Engagement as the Nexus to Good Governance in an Evolving Democratic Ecosystem.”
His Excellency Ibrahim Musa Anka of the Labour Party, who delivered a paper on “Mobilizing Citizens for Effective Change Action.”
A former ADC gubernatorial candidate, who discussed “Leadership Imperatives for a Successful Coalition and Merger Outcome.”
The State Chairman of the ADC, in his welcome remarks, appreciated the presence of stakeholders from across political divides and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to unity, accountability, and inclusive development in Zamfara State.
Participants at the convergence commended the ADC for taking the lead in promoting dialogue and cooperation among political actors. Many pledged continued support for initiatives aimed at improving governance and political stability in the state.
Following the main event, the ADC held a closed-door meeting with Local Government Area (LGA) Chairmen and members of the State Executive Council to discuss the outcomes of the convergence and map out future strategies.
The convergence is seen as a strategic step towards strengthening the ADC’s position in Zamfara politics and preparing for future political engagements.
